Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences (BUMHS), Quetta is the first Public Sector University of Medical and Health Sciences in the Province of Balochistan. The BUMHS Bill has been passed by the Balochistan Provincial Assembly and it has been notified in Balochistan Gazette as BUMHS Act, No. VII, 2017. The establishment of University has also been notified by Government of Balochistan from the date of promulgation of the Act.
The Bolan Medical College, being a pioneer of medical education in the province, has been providing its services in Balochistan since 1970s.
The BUMHS was the dream of our eminent professors, scholars, researchers and students for a long time. It is gift of government to the people of Baluchistan. Now it is your responsibility to lay down the solid foundation of the University on the principles of faith, unity and discipline. The Motto, Vision, Mission and Core Values of the University are defined. The structure of leadership which ensures strong administration in the faculty and across the University enables us to work across disciplines, bringing innovative and collaborative approaches to meet the challenges of teaching, learning and research.

Amongst the noblest of professions, Medicine and Dentistry are the most attracted professions for talented, brilliant and meritorious students. For selection of such students a robust and fair system is needed to be in place. Since its establishment, Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences (BUMHS) has tried to make admission process more structured and transparent to ensure that only suitable and capable candidates are admitted in MBBS and BDS programs of studies on merit. BUMHS and Government of Balochistan believe to provide an equal opportunity to the potential students to show their suitability for MBBS and BDS courses to enter medical or dental professions based on the principles of Justice, Equity, Transparency and Merit.
It is believed, these potential Students of medical and dental institutions would be fully prepared to accept 21st century’s challenges of medical profession. Profession of medicine and dentistry demands helping and supporting attitude of health care professionals towards people in need of Medical and Dental clinical services. While involved in diagnosing and treating illnesses of patients, it requires an inquisitive mind, capability to acquire high levels of advanced and skillful knowledge with an ability to relate to individuals each with their health needs for their healthy life.
It is expected that students would be aware of continuous hard work to reach the highest pedestal of excellence. While staying in BUMHS the students must feel confident that Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences’ policies are fair, transparent, maximally fool proof and equitable.
